Dosing designed with you in mind
Not everyone’s body responds the same way to Wegovy®, and raising your dose gradually can help your healthcare professional see how your body is adjusting to it. Be sure to tell your healthcare professional how each strength of Wegovy® makes you feel.
Wegovy® dosing for the once-daily pill
The Wegovy® pill comes in 4 different tablet strengths. When you start taking Wegovy®, you’ll begin with the 1.5 mg dose once daily. Your healthcare professional will slowly increase your dose to help your body get used to the medicine
After 30 days, you’ll move up to the next dose strength, and that will continue until you reach your maintenance dose*—that’s where you’ll stay after the gradual increases are done.
*At month 3 and on, you may stay at 25 mg as your maintenance dose. Work with your healthcare professional to determine which dose is right for you.
Wegovy® dosing for the pen
The Wegovy® pen comes in 6 different dose strengths and is injected under the skin. The starting dose of Wegovy® pen is 0.25 mg once weekly. After at least 4 weeks on each dose, you will step up to the next dose strength. Your healthcare professional can select 1.7 mg, 2.4 mg, or 7.2 mg (Wegovy® HD) as your maintenance dose.
Your maintenance dose is the dose of Wegovy® you’ll take each week going forward after the initial increase in your doses.
